Our stitching days and workshops are held in Alstonefield Village Hall, DE6 2FR, a lovely bright space with great facilities, fully accessible, and including Wi-Fi. The days run from 10.00 am. to 4.00 pm. with 45 minutes for lunch, which can be taken outside if the weather is good! Arrival is from 9.30 and unless otherwise specified, you may start stitching immediately if you wish. The stitching days are for starting or finishing off Threads embroidery projects only. Tea and coffee with home-made biscuits & cakes are included, including gluten and/or dairy free options on request. We ask that you bring your own packed lunch.
The 2026 price for a stitching day place is £40 (not including materials). Payment for these days is no longer required on booking but will be requested in full a few weeks before the date. Book here Workshops for specific embroideries (e.g. the new gold work 'Snail Trail') include materials and are priced individually. Payment for embroidery specific workshops will normally be required within 7 days of booking. Workshops are run with tables in a 'U' shape with both live demonstration by Cathy and video demonstration on the big screen. On stitching days and workshops there will be normally 12-15 people in attendance. Stitching days provide an opportunity for you to observe other techniques and you will be welcome to participate and learn from demonstrations not necessarily related to your particular embroidery project. If you are finishing off an embroidery project and prefer to bring your own device with you to watch a particular video tutorial, you are welcome to do so but please bring a headset /earpieces. Most equipment is provided for your use, but you are encouraged to bring your own embroidery hoop. If you would like to stay in the area, there are a number of accommodation options available.
