This is a Chrysanthemums design with a difference, as the petals of the chrysanthemum have a 'swirl' effect and are stitched 'off centre'. These traditionally geometric patterns will inspire you to create your own colour combinations and designs. They make lovely ornaments or gifts, and are great to hang on a Christmas tree or in the window. As an alternative to the workshop, the video tutorial may be purchased here
Suitability - Advanced Suitable for students who have attended the workshop 'Making a Temari Ball' for Beginners, or worked several temari balls previously.
Dates There will be a dedicated Temari Ball workshop for levels 2 & 3 published each Autumn.
Cost £59 per person including all materials and access to a YouTube tutorial after the workshop. Currently £35 for any subsequent workshop to work the same project (with tutoring but no materials provided).

Refreshments Tea & coffee is provided throughout the day, with home-made biscuits mid-morning and cake mid-afternoon.
What you need to bring A packed lunch. One pre-wrapped polystyrene ball* (so that we can start measuring at the start of the workshop). Please bring the cotton that you used to wrap the ball. Pins and a needle are included with your kit and embroidery & paper scissors are provided for your use on the day. However you are welcome to bring your own sewing kit if you prefer.
* * Please use an 80 mm polystyrene ball, which should be wrapped to the cotton stage and be ready for measuring at the start of the workshop. It is suggested that you use a pale coloured cotton for wrapping. Please make sure the ball circumference is no greater than 30 cm.
N.B. You will be provided with an 80 mm poly ball as part of your pack, to replace the one you have wrapped.
About the Workshop The workshop is limited to 12 persons, who may be working on different projects. You will learn to measure out 15 divisions around the ball, and work the Chrysanthemums design as shown. There will be a choice of coloured threads. A link to the video tutorial will be e-mailed to you after the workshop in order for you to be able to complete the embroidery at home or return to attend another workshop at a reduced price.
