Bayeux Stitch Silk Brooch In this 2-hour evening workshop at the lovely Betty's Sewing Box in Ashbourne, make an attractive circular brooch designed by Cathy, using beautiful hand-dyed pure silk threads with a choice of silk background fabric. Named after the Bayeux Tapestry, the stitch is a simple stitch to learn and very suitable for beginners and stitch enthusiasts alike! Measuring 6 cm across, the brooch is finished with a contrasting silk fabric and brooch pin at the back. Suitability Suitable for beginners.

Location Betty's Sewing Box Cokayne Avenue Ashbourne DE6 1EJ (Parking at the premises or on the street immediately opposite).
Refreshments Tea/coffee and home-made cake will be provided, part way through the evening.
What you need to bring Yourself! All materials and equipment will be provided, incuding a 4" embroidery hoop for you to use during the workshop. However, you are welcome to bring your own hoop and/or embroidery scissors if you prefer to use them. 4" hoops are normally also available to purchase.
Cost £20 per person including all materials and refreshments.
About the Workshop Your design will be pre-printed onto your silk fabric - there will be a choice of at least 2 suitable fabrics. During the evening, you will learn and practice all the stitches that make up Bayeux Stitch and will be given full instructions to complete your brooch at home. Refreshments will be provided part-way through the evening, and there will be an opportunity for you to browse around the shop at Betty's or simply to admire the lovely handmade and vintage items.
