Designed by Cathy, the Rooster is worked in the stitch of the Bayeux tapestry with pure silk hand-dyed threads on silk dupion. Bayeux stitch is so named because it is the stitch of the famous Bayeux Tapestry. It is a simple stitch to learn and very suitable for beginners, with only three basic stitches. The design will be pre-printed onto the silk for you
Together with an online YouTube tutorial, the kit includes silk threads, silk dupion with the design pre-printed, backing calico, crewel needle, straw needle, colour photograph, full instructions, and stitch key. Please note that the sky colour is a slightly different blue silk to that pictured (there is no pink in it) as the original colourway is no longer available.
To complete the project you will need an 8" embroidery hoop, embroidery and fabric scissors.
If you are buying as a gift, the kit and tutorial can be sent direct to the recipient at a time of your choice if details are supplied in the notes/comments box when completing your purchase.
