For those who would like to develop their skills in this Japanese art, this is a level 2 workshop where the ball is divided into six sections. These traditionally geometric patterns will inspire you to create your own colour combinations and designs. A degree of manual dexterity is needed to wind wool & thread around the ball. However, you should already be familiar with how to wrap a temari ball at this level and should ideally already have made a few balls previously. The tutorial does not cover how to wrap a ball. The video tutorial takes you through each step of the process to produce one embroidered ball in the Spindles design.
Available in 4 different colours- click on the photos to view colourway names - when purchasing please add in the notes/comments box on the payment screen at paypal which colourway you require. Please also state a 2nd choice if you have one. Base cotton colours provided will match the photographs as closely as possible. N.B. for the Pink Gin colourway, note that the photograph is only an indicator of colours and the metallic thread in the kit will be silver.
Together with an online YouTube tutorial, the kit includes 3 different cotton perle skeins of thread, 1000 yard reel of polyester cotton, long darning needle, metallic silver or gold thread, one 60mm polystyrene ball, 40 pearl-headed assorted colour pins, paper tape, wool, colour photograph and full instructions.
To complete the project you will need both paper and embroidery scissors, some old tights and a ruler. Postage and packing for destinations within the UK is included in the price. Please contact me for a price if you are outside the UK.
If you are buying as a gift, the kit and tutorial can be sent direct to the recipient at a time of your choice if details are supplied in the notes/comments box when completing your purchase.
