Chicken Scratch Tray Cloth The stitch used for this piece of work has various wonderful names …. Chicken Scratch, Depression Lace and Australian Lace being just a few. Worked on gingham, or as in this case a linen check fabric, the overall effect is simple rather than fussy. We feel it would lend itself equally to ‘country kitchen’ or ‘minimalist trendy'. You could equally well display this cloth as a hanging or picture.
