Blackwork originated in Tudor England, commonly thought to have been introduced to the country by Katharine of Aragon. At the time of booking, choose either to work the Goldfish & Water Lilies, or the Turtles. Both of these designs by Cathy are worked on white Aida fabric and include simple geometric blackwork patterns, highlighted with some metallic leather. The Goldfish embroidery is shown in a 10" embroidery hoop and the Turtles in an 8" hoop.

Please note that there will not be time to practise or complete ALL the stitches and techniques required during the day. A link to the relevant video tutorial will be e-mailed to you after the workshop in order for you to be able to complete the embroidery at home.
