Threads Celebrates 5 Year Anniversary

BOOK HERE

Saturday 9th & Sunday 10th September 2017

I can hardly believe that 5 years will have passed since our first workshop on 13th September 2012.   Jani and I started with Temari Balls for Beginners and I am really pleased that this Japanese art form is as popular now as it was then!  You may have attended our workshops once, twice or on multiple occasions and in celebrating our 5 year anniversary,  we want to thank you all by inviting you to either a morning or afternoon workshop during the weekend of 9th & 10th September, for which there will be no charge. I also want to use the occasion to launch new workshops for 2018. In addition, there will be a sale of various materials, packs and 'bits & pieces' as well as a display of previous projects.  Refreshments, including home-made cake & biscuits, will be served as usual by John!  Read all about it below.

Workshop - Embroidered Labels

Picture
Do you keep boxes of memorabilia or photographs that you'd like an attractive label for?  Or would you like something special to label a gift with?  This is an embroidered label worked in variegated fine silk, backed with pure wool tweed. We will be introducing a new stitch that we have not used before - a raised close herringbone stitch.  Pre-printed for you, the little leaves in this design are worked in this stitch, which is easy but effective to do.  You will make one label and be able to choose whatever lettering you wish. Some ideas for you:- 'photographs', 'fabrics', 'memories', 'memorabilia', 'family photos',  'with love'.
