Temari Spindles - Level 2

For those who would like to develop their skills in this Japanese art, this Spindles design involves some weaving after  the ball has been divided into six divisions. Using the colour way of your choice (many to choose from), these traditionally geometric patterns will inspire you to create your own colour combinations and designs. They make lovely ornaments or gifts, and are great to hang on a Christmas tree or in the window. As an alternative to the workshop, a kit with online tutorial is available to purchase now - click here

What you need to bring
A packed lunch.
One pre-wrapped polystyrene ball*   (so that we can begin measuring at the start of the workshop)

*Please use a 60 mm polystyrene ball, which should be wrapped to the cotton stage and be ready for measuring at the start of the workshop. For this workshop, you will find it easier to match colours if you wrap the ball in a neutral colour.

All other materials and equipment are provided. N.B. you will be provided with a poly ball and as part of your pack, to replace the one you have wrapped.

About the Workshop
The workshop is limited to 12 persons, who may be working on different projects. You will learn to measure six divisions  and work the Spindles design as in the photograph above. There will be a range of coloured threads to choose from. A link to the video tutorial will be e-mailed to you after the workshop in order for you to be able to complete the embroidery at home or return to attend another workshop at a reduced price.
