In this design the ball is subdivided into 12 pentagon shapes using a fairly complex but easy to follow measuring process.  A degree of manual dexterity is needed to wind wool & thread around the ball. However, you should already be familiar with how to wrap a temari ball at this level and should ideally already have worked several balls previously. The tutorial does not cover how to wrap a ball. The video tutorial takes you through each step of the process to produce one embroidered ball in the interlocking design shown. Instruction is also given about how to work an alternative design where the embroidery covers the whole ball (as pictured).
