A Crewelwork Peacock Designed by Cathy and worked on pure linen twill with Appleton crewel wools, the peacock is another project that was inspired by a visit to India in 2015. The embroidery also incorporates the use of silk & metallic threads with seed beads as an optional decoration. The embroidery itself measures 16 cm x 16 cm and is worked in an 8" embroidery hoop.
Suitability - Intermediate Plus Prior experience of embroidery is required. As a guide you should be able to work stem stitch and French knots and blanket stitch without instruction. You do not need to have experience of Crewelwork.

Refreshments Tea & coffee is provided throughout the day, with home baking. Please bring your own packed lunch.
What you need to bring packed lunch 8" embroidery hoop, both rings of which should be bound with white cotton tape or bias binding. A seat frame is recommended, however you may borrow a standard 8" hoop for the day if requested in advance. (Everything else is provided, including needles & embroidery scissors. However you are welcome to bring your own sewing kit if you prefer).
About the Workshop The workshop is limited to 12 persons, who may be working on different projects. The design will be pre-printed onto your linen twill. During the workshop, a range of stitches will be taught, including fly stitch, long and short stitch, bullion knots and buttonhole stitch. A link to the video tutorial will be e-mailed to you after the workshop in order for you to be able to complete the embroidery at home, or return to attend another workshop at a reduced price.
