Worked on pure linen twill in a range of Appleton's 2-ply crewel wools, this design by Cathy introduces a wide variety of crewel stitches including raised fishbone stitch, spiders web, long and short, fly stitch and bullion knots. The design itself measures approximately 13" x 9" (frame not included). It has been worked on a slate frame on linen twill measuring 20" x 16". Suitability - Intermediate
Prior experience of embroidery is required. As a guide you should be able to work stem stitch and French knots without instruction. You do not need to have experience of Crewelwork.
Dates
You may attend any 2025 workshop to begin this project.
Cost
£95 per person including all materials and access to a YouTube tutorial after the workshop (special offer price - only for 2025)
Currently £35 for any subsequent workshop to work the same project (with tutoring but no materials provided).
Times
10.00 am. to 4.00 pm. with 45 minutes for lunch
Arrival:- from 9.30 am.
Please note that you may start stitching from 9.30 am. if you wish.

Tea & coffee is provided throughout the day, with home-made biscuits mid-morning and cake mid-afternoon.
What you need to bring
A packed lunch.
A suitable embroidery frame for the project - the fabric can be sent to you in advance in order for you to prepare your frame.
(Everything else is provided, including needles & embroidery scissors. However you are welcome to bring your own sewing kit if you prefer)
About the Workshop
The workshop is limited to 12 persons, who may be working on different projects. The design will be pre-printed onto your linen twill. You will part-complete your embroidery and learn some of the stitches that make up the design. A link to the video tutorial will be e-mailed to you after the workshop in order for you to be able to complete the embroidery at home or return to attend another workshop at a reduced price.
