Suitability This workshop is suitable for anyone who can work back stitch, chain stitch and blanket stitch without instruction.
Date(s) This project is run over 2 days and will be run on demand with a minimum of 8 persons. Groups may wish to agree convenient dates. Please contact us to register your interest

What you need to bring
1) Embroidery frame, preferably upholstered, so that the background linen fabric can be pinned to the frame. Otherwise a 10" round frame, with a stand if possible. (N.B. We can supply frames for use on the workshop if requested in advance).
2) About 30 long pins (only if using an upholstered frame)
3) Small sharp embroidery scissors to cut wools
All other materials and equipment required to make the design will be provided. Please note that materials required to make a hanging or cushion afterwards are not included in the price of the workshop.*

About the Workshop This design provides an opportunity to learn a range of crewel stitches including split back stitch, jacobean couching, long and short stitch, bullion knots, buttonhole stitch and fly stitch. Each tea cup is worked in different stitches and we will work part of each cup during the workshop. It may be possible for students to complete the whole design over two days, if work is done at home between the two days. Full instructions will be given to students who wish to make the design into a hanging (as shown in the photograph below).
